Joseph Bacotti, M.D.
Dr. Bacotti graduated medical school in 1978 and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the old Nassau County Medical Center in 1982. He is a general ophthalmologist with special interests in glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macula degeneration and cataract surgery. He has maintained his office practice in Mineola, NY. He is a member of the Mineola Lions Club and his wife Lillian is a member of the North Shore Lions Club for many years.
Dr. Bacotti is a member of the New York State Ophthalmological Society and a past president for the State Society. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for the NY State Ophthalmological Society for 20 years and represents the society to the state Medical Society at the present time. Dr. Bacotti is a member of Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists and serves on the Board of Directors for the organization. He is a board member for the Long Island Ophthalmological Society and a past president as well and is the Community Service and Liaison representative at the present time. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has served as N.Y. State councilor to the Academy.
At the present time Dr. Bacotti is active as the Co-chairman for sight for the Lions Clubs and a member of the Lions Eye Bank Board of Directors. Dr. Bacotti enjoys presenting the Lions message of Sight concerning glaucoma and diabetes to not only Lions Clubs but to senior citizens groups or church organizations.
